Jaiden Reyna Wins in Second Career Start on Dirt

Jaiden Reyna made the trip to Pennsylvania from North Carolina to field one of Joe Ryan Osborne’s cars at Lincoln on Saturday night. Reyna has been impressive on asphalt this year in the Young Lions division. Saturday was only Reyna’s second start on dirt in a Legend. The young gun was impressive all night and capped off his trip north with a victory.

Billy Workman Jr. drove by Chris Transeau and Reyna from third to take the lead on the start.  The caution came out on lap 1 for Richie Dobson who got spun around coming out of turn 4.

Transeau and Reyna were side by side for second at the line on lap 2. Nikita Johnson joined the battle as Workman started pulling away from the rest of the field.

The yellow flag flew again on lap 7 when Taylor Watson came to a stop in turn 2.

Workman led Transeau, Reyna, Johnson and Seth Kearchner to the cone for the single-file restart.

Transeau stuck with Workman on the restart but the caution came out again on lap 8 when Ben Goldsmith spun out on the back stretch.

Reyna and Johnson were door to door at the line for third with Reyna holding the spot.  Travis McClelland and Travis Perry were side by side behind Kearchner with both drivers challenging Kearchner for fifth.

Transeau and Reyna raced side by side on lap 11 for second. Transeau held the spot by a nose at the line on lap 12.

Reyna took the second spot using the top side of the track coming out of turn 2. Johnson followed also getting by Transeau. Transeau didn’t go quietly and took the spot back. Johnson stuck around and took third back from Transeau as Reyna caught Workman at the front of the field.

The caution came out on lap 15 as Workman and Reyna made contact as they battled for the lead. Workman ended up backwards in turn 3 as Reyna drove away from the incident without coming to a stop.

After inheriting the lead, Reyna led Johnson, Transeau, Kearchner and McClelland on the restart.

Johnson got his nose under Reyna as they drag raced down the back stretch side by side. Reyna held the lead by a nose on lap 16. The two continued to battle and Reyna’s advantage was even smaller on lap 17 at the line.

The battle at the front of the field allowed Transeau to move within striking distance making it a three way battle for the top spot.

Transeau got his nose under Johnson in an attempt to take second but couldn’t hold the advantage as they crossed the line as the laps wound down.

Reyna got to the checkered flag .743 seconds ahead of Johnson. Transeau held on to finish third with Kearchner crossing the line fourth. McClelland completed the top five.

In addition to winning the feature, Reyna picked up a $50 bonus from MRD Maintenance Solutions for having the fastest lap in the feature. Reyna had a lap time of 20.157 seconds.

Mike Racine earned the $50 hard charger award from Tuned Out Audio after driving from thirteenth to sixth in the main event.
