NEW OXFORD, Pa.: Growth has become common year-to-year for the Gene Latta Ford Central Pennsylvania Legends Series. This season is no different.
The series, which is owned by Shawn Groft and Scott Gobrecht, has become one of the top support divisions in the Central Pa. region. That will continue in 2023, as the series boasts a hefty 41-race schedule that has four more events than a year ago.
“We are really pleased with the progress of the Legends series,” Groft said. “The support from the local tracks has been great, and it’s allowed us to add sponsors and more prestigious events to the schedule.
“This wouldn’t be possible without the tracks, sponsors, and Gene Latta Ford. They have all stepped up to help make this series what it is today.”
The schedule will feature 41 races at nine different speedways. Baker Door Company has been instrumental in supporting 10 races at BAPS Motor Speedway, with McSherrytown Moose sponsoring five events at Lincoln Speedway. Path Valley Speedway hosts nine shows, with Linda’s Speedway, Clinton County, Potomac, Big Diamond, and Bloomsburg Fair Speedway hosting events.
Clinton County Speedway is a Friday night facility, but the Central PA Legends will be paired with the 410 Sprint Car division for a double-header on Saturday, August 12. Bloomsburg Fair Speedway has also moved its Legends date from Fair Week to Thursday, August 3.
There are a few big shows on the season slate. Linda’s Speedway will host the Earman Fulk Memorial on April 28. Drivers can also circle September 9 at Lincoln Speedway, which will be sponsored by Pastor Dave Miller and Ministry Motorsports with special thanks to Harvest Chapel. The event will be billed as the “Thunder and Lightning Classic.” Path Valley will also hold the Summer Slam on September 30.
