Path Valley Speedway
The first race back after a weekend off was
exciting. 12 cars tried their luck in the valley on Friday.
Mark Roberts debuted his new car and number, the gray and black K9.
Eight lap heat race winners were Geremey Sheaffer and Scott
Houdeshell. But the real drama happened during the 20 lap
feature event. The first three caution flags were your typical
racing incidents. Then we get to lap 11. Ed Trump in the
79 car raced through turn three, only to find a spinning car waiting
for him. Evasive manuevers sent him rolling onto his side
through turn four, ripping the hood and roof off the 79 Baker Door
car. The 38 Toolbox.net car of Rick Miller was following the 79
around the spinning car and narrowly avoided pounding the tumbling car
in the roof. Hooray for good brakes. Track crew eventually
threw the red flag while they assisted Trump from his newly renovated
convertible and towed it off the track. The race resumed and on
lap 14, Geremey Sheaffer took over the lead from Lucas Montgomery's
Impressive Signs 15M car, the lap leader to this point in the race.
Montgomery stayed tight behind him through the next six laps until
turn four of the last lap where he edged by Sheaffer at the line to
take the win. Congratulations to Lucas on his sixth win of the
season. Ed Trump was a bit sore and had some black and
blue places, but he is looking forward to getting his second car on
the track next weekend at Susquehanna.
